  Patent arterial duct is associated with an increased risk of extra-cardiac morbidity such as IVH, NEC, CLD and poor neurodevelopmental outcome. This study applies a comprehensive risk core to quantify PDA significance and where the score value indicated increased risk of developing CLD/ death the patient is randomized to either treatment with ibuprofen or placebo. Presence of a ductus and detailed functional assessment of its impact on myocardial performance is undertaken. The primary outcome of the study is CLD diagnosed at 36 weeks or death before discharge.

This study seeks to establish if changes in the fetal pulmonary circulation in response to prenatal maternal oxygen administration can predict postnatal respiratory morbidity in infants with conditions such as IUGR and premature rupture of membranes as well as congenital cardiac lesions with a systemic to pulmonary shunt who are at risk of postnatal PHN

  This is a study of indices of right and left ventricular function in babies with Down Syndrome who are admitted for surgical repair of congenital heart disease associated with a systemic to pulmonary shunt. • I am the medical lead on the Standard Operating Procedure for the use of portable T60 pumps in Our Lady's Children's Hospital Crumlin, these pumps allow children who are chronically dependent of the administration of IV infusions to maintain cardiovascular health while awaiting heart transplant to spend some time outside and offsite. The use of these pumps is a novel development in the management of such children in the British Isles . This national policy was established in 2018 September 2018
