Welcome to the Discipline of Public Health & Primary Care

The Discipline of Public Health and Primary Care, within the School of Medicine at Trinity College Dublin is actively engaged in multidisciplinary teaching and research with core partnerships within the HSE, Department of Health and local communities. The Discipline incorporates general practice, population health, epidemiology, health services research, addiction sciences research, biostatistics and planetary health. The Discipline also hosts the Centre for Health Policy and Management and the Trinity Centre for Global Health. We are located at multiple sites across the TCD campus with the main centre based in the Institute of Population Health in the Russell Centre in Tallaght in Southwest Dublin. We are actively engaged across all stages of the undergraduate medical curriculum and deliver three MSc programs, in Addiction Sciences, Health Policy and Management and Global Health. We have identified Health Equity and Climate Change and Health as key strategic priorities for our Discipline.
