The Irish Dental Association hosted the National GP meeting on Saturday, 31 January 2026, where SPHeRE scholar, Dr Paul Leavy, was invited to share findings from his PhD Understanding the factors shaping the implementation of the National Oral Health Policy through a workforce lens: a realist and health systems approach".

The Minister for Health, Jennifer Caroll MacNeill opened the meeting and was followed by a call for a genuine partnership between Government and the profession, as dentists are ready and eager to help fix the system, which Paul described as being at a critical crossroads.
