Congratulations to Dr  Irina Kinchin, Assistant Research Professor at the Centre for Health Policy and Management, and Dr Felicity Daly, Assistant Professor, Public Health & Primary Care, recipients of Research Ireland’s New Foundations 2025 awards. Speaking about her research project, which will explore disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) for Alzheimers,  Irina said: "The New Foundations award supports our mission to develop an integrated, graph-theory-informed care pathway for the safe implementation of disease-modifying therapies in Alzheimer’s disease. Uniting Trinity College Dublin researchers, the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, clinical leaders, policy partners, and people with lived experience, we are co-designing a patient-centred roadmap to ensure that people can access these therapies quickly, safely, and equitably when they arrive in Ireland. This award turns cutting-edge science into actionable policy, setting a new benchmark for healthcare innovation at home and beyond.”

Dr Felicity Daly, whose award winning project will address addressing heath disparities of refugees & asylum seekers in Ireland, said: “SHARE is designed to facilitate forced migrants’ input in determining an impactful model of health promotion that supports their sexual and reproductive health and enhances cultural competency of health promotion and services for an underserved population. The Sexual Health Centre’s Sexual Health Ambassador Training programme aims to empower forced migrants to look after their own sexual health and safeguard them from victimisation. The 'Ambassadors' relay information among their community, mainly resident in Ireland's Direct Provision system, to challenge sexual health misconceptions and support uptake of sexual health services. I'm really honoured to serve as Principal Investigator of research that will contribute evidence on the implementation of services addressing heath disparities of refugees and asylum seekers in Ireland."
