Dr Charlotte Myers, Research Fellow with the Centre, recently collaborated with the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies and is the lead author of their new policy brief titled: Reducing inequalities in cancer care: A health system approach to implementing change.

Some of the key messages include:

  • Governments and health systems are committed to preventing and tackling cancer but inequality is a real obstacle to progress.
  • Wider determinants of health have a major impact but health systems (and access to them) make a significant difference.
  • A broad health systems approach will help policymakers to improve early detection, diagnosis and treatment and translate scientific advances into equitable change.

The policy brief will be presented during a webinar on the 27th of January 2026, @ 12:00 – 13:00 CET. Registration is now open!
