Session 1- Childhood Physical Disability-early recognition and intervention (Jan/Feb 2026)

 

Overview

This comprehensive series is designed for healthcare professionals working with children. Participants will develop confidence in recognising early signs of motor, sensory, and cognitive delays in childhood, and will learn to navigate appropriate referral pathways. The course emphasises interdisciplinary collaboration and real-world case discussion, promoting timely responses.

Session 1 will focus on the early recognition and intervention in childhood physical disability.

CPD Accreditation

This course is CPD Approved by the Royal College of Physicians Ireland. A total of 9 CPD Credits can be claimed after completing this course.

Early detection of developmental delay is essential. This course addresses:

  • Identification of neurodevelopmental “red flags”
  • Enhancing collaborative working between disability and primary care teams
  • Providing case-based, expert-led discussions and practical learning
  • Improving understanding of referral pathways and early interventions

  2. New approaches in early detection and why this is so important
  3. Resources and Interventions to support Health Care Professionals after presentation
