JOB DESCRIPTION

The Global Room is working with the Trinity Disability Service to provide summer internship opportunities to students with disabilities at Trinity. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to international students at the Global Room, develop social media content, deliver campus tours and provide administrative support to the Trinity Global Room team.

  • The Global Room is a student support hub and event space on campus for all Trinity students. The Global Room service is supported by a team of Student Global Ambassadors and four professional staff members. Global Ambassadors are students trained to help international students with everything from logistical practicalities to the basics of settling into life in Dublin. The Global Room runs a programme of events and activities throughout the year. Global Ambassadors help host events, develop social media and vlog content as well as working on reception handling queries from students

Development Opportunities

The Global room intend on hiring 3 interns during the summer months to work on 1 or more of the following areas:

  • Event planning and management: Collaborating with staff and fellow ambassadors to develop events and initiatives which will be run in the Global Room.
  • Content creation: Creating social media, blog and video content for the Trinity Global Room social media channel (mainly Instagram).
  • Student advisor: Developing resources and giving student support and advice with a specialist focus on prospective and current international student queries.
  • Administrative support: Answering emails, editing excel documents and other administrative support that may be required.
  • Project work: This could include working on projects related to the lived experience of international students, scholarships or University of Sanctuary

Requirements

  • Current student connected with the Trinity Disability Service.
  • Current students must have completed at least on year of their studies at Trinity College.

  Person Specification

  • Trinity Global is looking to recruit an energetic and enthusiastic team of Global Ambassadors from June – September 2024, to support the activities of the Global Room and the wider Trinity Global Team.
