Mind-Mapping - Problem Solving Technologies

Visual thinking is a learning style where the learner better understands and retains information when ideas, words, and concepts are associated with images. Mind mapping is a visual form of note taking that offers an overview of a topic and its complex information. Using colours, images, and words, mind mapping begins with a central idea and expands outward to more in-depth sub-topics. Mind maps help students brainstorm on any topic and think creatively.

FreeMind

Free Mind app logo

Like all mind maps, FreeMind gives you the flexibility to organise thoughts on a page as they connect to each other and to the larger picture. After all, not all minds reason in subheadings and bullet points. You shape, place, and name that master idea (the root node), then create child or sibling spokes that relate to it.

Getting Started With Trello (Demo)

If you get distracted when you're writing, join the club. It's one of the biggest struggles I deal with in my work. However, I recently discovered an app that can help put an end to those distractions. It's called Cold Turkey Writer, and it completely locks down your computer until you write the number of words that you specify.
