Universal Accessibility Guide

Universal Accessibility Guide

The Universal Accessibility Guide has been developed to support the creation of accessible, inclusive, and welcoming environments across Trinity College Dublin. The guide provides practical information and recommendations to help ensure that campus spaces, services, teaching environments, events, and communications can be accessed and used by the widest possible range of people.

Grounded in the principles of Universal Design and informed by the experiences of disabled students, staff, and visitors, the guide promotes an approach that considers accessibility from the beginning rather than as a retrofit or adjustment process.

TCD Accessibility Guidelines.

The guide is intended to support:

  • staff and service areas across the University
  • Estates and campus development projects
  • teaching and learning environments
  • event planning and public engagement
  • contractors, consultants, and external partners
  • students involved in campus activities and initiatives

Accessibility is a shared responsibility across the University community. By embedding inclusive design and accessibility into everyday practice, Trinity aims to create an environment that supports participation, belonging, independence, and dignity for all.

This guide forms part of Trinity’s wider commitment to access, inclusion, Universal Design, and the ongoing development of an accessible campus and university experience.
