Fiona is a Disability Officer with the TCD Disability Service. She joined the team in January 2024, after leaving her post as a specialist mentor for students with disabilities at the University of Cambridge, where she worked for 12 years. Prior to the University of Cambridge, Fiona was active in UK Politics, serving as a District Councillor, County Councillor, Leader of the Opposition and a Parliamentary Case Worker.
Fiona has a degree and two postgraduate diplomas in law from the University of West of England. An eclectic career has taken her from studying law to creating and delivering I.T. training courses, pro bono legal work for families navigating the U.K. SEN system and local politics where she specialised in support for children and young adults and co-authored a paper on reducing national reoffending rates for adults. After a career helping others access support it was a natural progression to a job advocating for and providing support to students.
Fiona has returned to Ireland after living and working overseas in Switzerland, Germany, Holland and the UK for many years.
