Access to STEM – AT Supporting Inclusive Classrooms

On 6th June 2025, Trinity disAbility Service were proud to welcome CHAT (Community Hub for Accessible Technology) into An Mheiteal for a live event exploring how Assistive Technology (AT) supports access to STEM learning in inclusive primary and secondary school settings.

Hosted by Trinity’s Civic Engagement for Societal Impact unit and FreedomTech, this CHAT event brought together educators, technologists, makers, and community leaders to showcase practical ways AT empowers learners and educators alike.

This event was followed by an in-person Vision Code workshop on June 7th. Vision Code is a Trinity and Fighting Blindness partnership teaching students with sight loss (aged 12–17) to code using Python and Micro: bit.

This workshop was led by Declan Meenagh from Fighting Blindness and and Dr Emilie Giles from Arts University Bournemouth.
