Application Information

Applications for 2024/25 will open in early November 2023.

Eligibility Criteria

This programme is suitable for graduates who have achieved an upper second class honours degree or the international equivalent in either Physics, maths, computer science or engineering. Applicants whose first language is not English or has not completed their undergraduate degree through the medium of English are welcome but may be required to demonstrate a competent level of English through an assessment or interview with the Course Director prior to a final decision on admission.

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0, approximately equivalent to an overall grade of 70-75%, is required for entry.

Application

Applications will be accepted until June 30th (non-EU applicants) and July 31st (EU applicants). Final decisions on all applications will be made by July 31st. However, as entry is highly competitive, early application is advised.
Your application should consist of the following documents

  • Cover letter outlining your interest in the degree.
  • Curriculum Vitae.
  • Transcript of academic results.
  • Copies of degree certificates.
  • Contact details of two academic references.
  • English language certificate if necessary (see below).

Apply

If English is not your first language, you should also include documentation showing reasonable competency in the English language. Applicants whose first language is not English or who have not completed their undergraduate degree through the medium of English are welcome but may be required to demonstrate their English through an assessment or interview with the Course Director prior to a final decision on admission. The University may request additional documents. Guidelines on how to complete the application form as well as the additional documents that must accompany an application are available here. Please note that in some cases where there are pending documents, excellent candidates may be made a Conditional Offer. Most candidates are typically informed of the decision on their application within three weeks following the receipt of the complete application.

Fees

Course Deposit: Students who wish to accept an offer of a place in the College will be required to pay a (non-refundable) acceptance deposit to secure their place.
If the student withdraws or does not continue with the course, they are entitled to a refund of their fees, minus the non-refundable deposit, up until the 31st of October.
Note: deposits are refundable where a student fails to meet a required offer condition or is unsuccessful in their visa application. Details of the due date and method of payment will be included in the offer letter.

Scholarships

Academic scholarships for postgraduate international students are available at Trinity. Trinity rewards academic achievement and has sought to assist international students of limited means. A number of scholarships are made possible by bequests and gifts that have been generously donated to the Trinity over the years.
