Charge couple device thermoreflectance

Charge couple device thermoreflectance is a technique which enables a standard microscope system to create high spatial resolution temperature maps (250 nm). Our system can employ either light or current to generate the heat source. This system allows separation of Joule heating and Peltier effects which is imperative for characterisation of micro thermoelectric generators (µTEG).Charge couple device thermoreflectance

Alternatively an electrical signal can be used to measure the temperature distribution of electronic devices under operation.

Our aim is to first investigate thermal performance of well-known materials in their thin film form, then to develop novel materials with high thermal performance.
