May has been a landmark month for Prof. Peter Gallagher, an Adjunct Professor in the TCD School of Physics and Director of DIAS Dunsink Observatory.

On 8 May, Professor Gallagher was elected as a Councillor of the Royal Astronomical Society, recognising his leadership and contributions to the field of astronomy and astrophysics.

He was also admitted to the Royal Irish Academy (RIA) on 22 May — Ireland’s highest academic honours.

Congratulations to Peter on these outstanding achievements and this well-deserved recognition from both the Irish and international scientific communities.
