MSc in Energy Science Trinity College Dublin, in collaboration with the Energy Institute, KEO Sustainability + Environment and the Faculty of STEM are delighted to invite you to our 5th Annual Energy Science 2026 seminar.
This event will feature a number of speakers from both agencies and industry to discuss their company and our energy space in Ireland and internationally.
The focus of the seminar is to promote Energy Science and sustainability, exchange information and to provide the Energy Science class students the opportunity to
- i) learn about Energy Science from the perspective of different companies
- ii) develop international contact networks in energy storage
- iii) discuss with our hosts related issues and concerns across Energy Science.
We have an exciting range of speakers including ESB Networks, KEO International Consultants, SEAI, EPA, Electroroute, Clarke Energy, EirGrid, Statkraft, Eaton ad Orsted to discuss their mission and our energy landscape in Ireland and internationally.

On the day we will showcase 15 Energy Science research projects and we will present the KEO Energy Sustainability Research award.

Dr. Emily Byrne
Energy analyst at Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI)
Emily is part of a team that analyses data from the National Energy Balance as well as monthly energy data. She contributes to the stats team’s publication portfolio (Energy in Ireland, First Look short notes, data visualisation etc.) and reports to the European ODYSSEE project. She has past experience in both academic and commercially focused energy research and related areas within the Chemistry field.
Dr. Darragh O'Neill
Senior Manager for Research Strategy at the Environmental Protection Agency
Darragh leads the development and implementation of the EPA’s research strategy, the management of funding programmes as well as national and international partnerships.
Cathal Heneghan
Associate Director at KEO/Meehan Green, LEED AP BD+C & O+M, MSc
KEO/Meehan Green provide sustainability consulting, training and contractor support to the built environment.
Cathal is experienced in a diverse range of projects including, Commercial Offices, Pharmaceutical and Educational facilities. He has In-depth knowledge of sustainable design focusing on the three key areas of embodied energy (LCA), climate resilience and designing to achieve certification through the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) green building rating system.
