The RI Pathway Programme welcomes research proposals from any discipline within Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (AHSS) for 4 years and up to €535,000 (direct costs). This funding will enable postdoctoral researchers to conduct independent research and will provide funding for a postgraduate student who will be primarily supervised by the applicant. The maximum funding request permitted includes a contribution to the salary of the applicant, and the stipend and fees for a PhD student.

Applicants must have held a PhD or equivalent qualification for at least two years at proposal submission and must not be considered an independent investigator. They must not hold, or have held, an academic contract (e.g. lecturer, assistant professor, professor, or similar) of greater than, or equal to, 36 months in duration (also, not have held a significant peer-reviewed or an independent research grant).  But applicants must have identified a mentor, who will give advice, co-supervise the PhD student and provide access to laboratory space.

An information webinar for those nominated by their host Research Body to submit a full proposal, detailing the application and review process will be held on Tuesday, 3rd March, 10:00 local Irish time.
