Obtain the IP address of a computer connected to the Trinity network

Every computer that is connected to the Trinity network (either the wired or Wi-Fi network) has a unique IP address.

To get the IP address of your computer, while it is connected to the Trinity network, follow the instructions below:

Windows

  1. Connect the computer to either the Wired network in offices and labs, Staff Wi-Fi or the Student Wi-Fi.
  2. On the keyboard, press Windows Logo+R.
  3. In the Run box, type cmd, press Enter.
  4. In the Command Prompt, type ipconfig, and press Enter.
  5. The IP address is listed as IPv4 Address and takes the form 134.226.xxx.xxx

macOS

  1. Connect the computer to either the Wired network in offices and labs, Staff Wi-Fi or the Student Wi-Fi.
  2. Click Apple Icon, click System Preferences - Network.
  3. From the panel on the left, click Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Then click the Details button next to the name of the network you are connected to.
  4. The IP address is listed in the main section of the window and is in the form 134.226.xxx.xxx.
