A suspicious email. A file shared with too many people. Sensitive information pasted into an AI tool. A sign-in request you weren’t expecting.
Cyber security incidents can begin with very ordinary actions.
That’s why, for Global Cyber Security Awareness Month this October, we’re focusing on practical things we can all do to protect our accounts and University information.
Each week, we’ll focus on a different aspect of cyber security:
- Week One: Spotting phishing and social engineering
- Week Two: Using AI safely and recognising deepfakes
- Week Three: Protecting your account and University information
- Week Four: Knowing when and how to report a security incident
How can I take part?
Visit the Cyber Crime Watch Hub each week throughout October, where we'll be sharing new guidance, resources and activities to help you put good cyber security habits into practice. Each week, you can learn something new and take a simple action to help protect yourself and University information.
