This page gives information on the versions of Microsoft 365 supported by IT Services and installation methods for the software.

Installing Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365, which includes applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and OneDrive can be installed on up to 5 computers. First, log in at http://office.tcd.ie and choose ‘ Install apps’ from the top right of the screen.

If you need to specifically install the 64-bit version or 32-bit version of Microsoft 365, then choose ‘ Other install options’. For more information see our page on How to Install Microsoft 365.

Trinity staff and students can install Microsoft 365 for PC by logging in at http://office.tcd.ie and choosing the Install apps link at the top right of the main page.

Please note that if you wish to upgrade to the latest version of Microsoft 365 and you had previously installed it via disk or if your device shipped with Microsoft 365 pre-installed then you need to uninstall the current version and install the latest version via http://office.tcd.ie.

Microsoft Project / Microsoft Visio - If you have either or both of these products installed and wish to keep using them you cannot uninstall your current version of Microsoft 365 without converting your Project / Viso licence to one compatible with Microsoft 365.

Trinity staff and students can install Microsoft 365 for macOS by logging in at http://office.tcd.ie and choosing the Install apps link at the top right of the main page.

If you install Microsoft 365 for macOS via http://office.tcd.ie it does not uninstall older versions of Microsoft 365 already installed on your Mac. You should manually uninstall these applications prior to installing this version.

Please note that Microsoft 365 for macOS is supported by Apple for macOS Big Sur (11.x) or later.
