Late Submission of Assessments (Extensions)

The Late Submission of Assessments (Extensions) Policy outlines the procedures, expectations, and consequences for submitting assessments after the designated deadline, in accordance with the Equal Status Act 2000. Under section 6.3 of the Policy, disabled students who have a Learning Educational Needs Summary (LENS) report that includes the reasonable accommodation "flexible assessment deadlines" are entitled to an automatic one-week extension of assessment deadlines if this can be accommodated. Module coordinators are expected to check SITS regularly to identify eligible students and apply the extension in Blackboard. If an extension cannot be granted, the module coordinator must inform the student and, where possible, provide alternative arrangements.
