Agreement between Depositors and the Administrators of eDeposit Ireland
eDeposit Ireland digital publications repository is an initiative of the Content Management & Open Scholarship Department (CMOS) of the Library of Trinity College Dublin. CMOS is responsible for collection development, acquisitions, cataloguing, serials, and the processing of legal deposit material within the Library.

eDeposit Ireland is a repository for the collection, description, archiving and preservation of the electronic publishing output of Ireland. It holds open access and embargoed publications. Open access means that these items will be freely available on the Internet.  Embargoes are time-limited (but can be extended) and serve to block any access to a publication until the embargo expires.  These options are set during the upload process.

Publishers agree to deposit publications in eDeposit Ireland on their own initiative, and as soon as possible after publication.

Publishers agree to provide associated metadata (title, year of publication, document type, keywords etc.) directly into eDeposit Ireland at the time of deposit. The administrators of eDeposit Ireland reserve the right to upgrade metadata.

Deposited publications will receive a persistent identifier/link that remains constant. Publishers may link from their own website to their deposited material using the persistent handle assigned to their publication.  Publishers may request to opt-in for DOI (digital object identifiers).

The administrators of eDeposit Ireland will allow contributors to amend a previous admission with revisions but will remove the original item only under exceptional circumstances.

The administrators of eDeposit Ireland reserve the right to remove any material, e.g. with legal and ethical concerns, and defamatory or libellous content.

The publisher agrees that the Library of Trinity College Dublin may migrate any submitted publications to another platform or file format in the future, for the purposes of access and preservation.
