The Library has full or partial collections of publications of International Organisations, as well as some publications of overseas governments, especially British colonies and former colonies. The following is a brief description of most of the collections; for European organisations, see the Europe collections:

  • Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (and its predecessor the OEEC): good collection
  • Commonwealth of Nations: good collection
  • North Atlantic Treaty Organization: a little
  • Pan American Union (now OAS): very little
  • United Nations: good collection to 1967, a little thereafter
  • Food and Agriculture Organization: good collection to 1983, a little thereafter
  • General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade: good collection to 1964
  • World Trade Organisation: good collection from 2013
  • International Atomic Energy Agency: good collection to 1983, very little thereafter
  • International Civil Aviation Organization: very little
  • International Fund for Agricultural Development: very little
  • International Labour Organization: good collection to 1980, a little thereafter
  • International Maritime Organization (and its predecessor the IMCO): good collection
  • International Monetary Fund: good collection to 1986, a little thereafter
  • International Telecommunication Union: very little
  • UNESCO: good collection to 1993, a little thereafter
  • UNIDO: very little
  • Universal Postal Union: very little
  • World Bank (IBRD): good collection from 1993, a little previously
  • World Health Organization: good collection
  • World Intellectual Property Organization: very little

  • British-Irish Council: reasonably good collection
