Manuscripts & Archives holds several collections relating to the development and practice of the visual arts in Ireland including the papers of two Directors of the National Gallery of Ireland:

  • MSS 5970-6167: the archives of the Harry Clarke studio

Architects’ papers include

  • MS 10049: Percy le Clerc (1914-2002)

Archival material relating to historic buildings can be found within the estate collections of landed families:

  • MSS 3974-84: the Connolly papers
  • MS 11183: the papers of the Earls of Courtown
  • MSS 4181-84: Sir Philip Crampton
  • Trinity College Dublin’s own buildings are some of the most architecturally important buildings in Ireland, and the College Archives contain building records
