About the Microsoft 365 Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) 

You can access the Microsoft 365 Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) tool via office.tcd.ie. It allows you to change your password if you know it, reset your password if you have forgotten it, or unlock your account.   

How can I change my password  

That’s easy, just follow the steps below: 

  1. Log into your Microsoft 365 account via office.tcd.ie.
  2. Click on the ‘Settings’ icon (cog wheel). 
  3. Click on the option: Change your password. 
  4. You will then be prompted to enter your old password, then a new one twice. 

Password strength 

To ensure your password is secure it must follow the below regulations: 

  • be at least 8 characters long 
  • have a mix of upper and lowercase characters 
  • include at least one numeric character OR a special character such as ! @ $ % * _ - + = ~
  • not include £ € : ? | space
  • not include part of your first name, last name or username
  • not be the same as any of your previous 24 passwords 

Good to know: your password can only be changed once in any 24 hour period 

Remember 

Don't reveal your password to anyone else, not even staff from Trinity IT Services. IT Services will never ask for your password in any email we send or in any phone call.
