Sean Melly

Biography

Sean Melly (1964 - 2022) graduated from Trinity with a Business degree in 1985 and a Masters degree in Finance from UCD in 1986.  He spent 10 years in Banking in London & New York working for Citi & the investment vehicles of the Belzberg family and Dermot Desmond.  Following this, he was an entrepreneur establishing businesses in the US, Ireland and Central Europe.  He was Chairman of Powerscourt Investments, a Venture Capital & Private Equity boutique where he was non-executive director and investor in a range of technology based high potential start-up and developing companies. He was Chairman of the Advisory Board of Trinity Business School, Professor of Finance (adj.) on the MBA Program, & member of the Provost’s Council.
