Professor John Dong, Professor of Business Analytics at Trinity Business School, has been ranked No. 1 in Europe and No. 6 worldwide for his research publications in the Association for Information Systems (AIS) Senior Scholars' basket of six leading information systems journals, according to the top scholar ranking in the AIS Research Rankings 2021. The AIS Research Rankings track top publications in leading information systems journals. At present, the rankings include data for the years 1990-2021.

As a result of these publications, Trinity College Dublin appeared in the top university ranking for the first time and was ranked No. 39 worldwide and No. 4 in Europe by the AIS Research Rankings 2021.

About Professor John Dong

Professor John Dong is Chair of Business Analytics at the Trinity Business School, the co-director of the Trinity Centre for Digital Business and Analytics, and the director of the Trinity Executive MBA at Trinity College Dublin. He is also an associate editor for MIS Quarterly (ABS4*/FT50) and Journal of the Association for Information Systems (ABS4*), as well as a guest editor for Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal (ABS4/FT50) special issue on entrepreneurial decisions in the digital age. He conducts computational and empirical research at the intersection of information systems and strategic management, on a variety of topics related to digital innovation and innovation strategy.

His work has been published in leading journals such as MIS Quarterly (ABS4*/FT50), Strategic Management Journal (ABS4*/FT50), Journal of Management (ABS4*/FT50), Journal of Management Information Systems (ABS4/FT50), Journal of the Association for Information Systems (ABS4*), European Journal of Information Systems (ABS4), Information Systems Journal (ABS4), Journal of Product Innovation Management (ABS4), and Journal of Strategic Information Systems (ABS4), among others. He is the recipient of numerous research awards and honours, including the Best Short Paper Award Nomination from International Conference on Information Systems in 2021, the Research Excellence Award from Trinity Business School in 2021, the Early Career Award from the Association for Information Systems in 2020, the Best Paper Award Nomination from the Strategic Management Society Special Conference in 2018, the Outstanding Junior Researcher Award from the Faculty of Economics and Business at University of Groningen in 2017, the Best Paper Award Runner-Up from the Academy of Management Annual Meeting in 2015, and the Dean's PhD Fellowship for Research Excellence from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2013.
