AI at Trinity Business School

Artificial intelligence is changing how organisations make decisions, develop strategy and create value. At Trinity Business School, AI is integrated across education, research and engagement with industry.

Our approach combines technological capability with responsible leadership, preparing students and organisations to use AI effectively while understanding its wider implications for business and society.

AI is not simply a technical development. It is reshaping how organisations allocate authority, assess risk and define accountability. Business schools must prepare leaders not only to use these technologies, but to govern them responsibly.

Professor Laurent Muzellec

Dean of Trinity Business School

We see AI as more than a technical tool. It is changing how organisations allocate authority, assess risk and define accountability.

For business leaders, understanding AI means knowing both what the technology can achieve and how it should be governed. Our teaching and research therefore connect AI with strategy, ethics, sustainability and human judgement.

AI is incorporated across programmes at Trinity Business School, helping students develop the analytical, strategic and leadership capabilities required in an AI-enabled economy.

The Trinity AI XR Hub brings together education, research and industry engagement in artificial intelligence, extended reality and emerging technologies.

Based at Trinity Business School, the Hub advances the responsible, human-centred application of AI and immersive technologies. Its work explores how technology can strengthen, rather than replace, human skills and capability.

Through responsible AI-assisted problem-solving, immersive workshops and VR leadership scenarios, students develop digital and AI capabilities alongside critical thinking, communication, collaboration and ethical judgement.

The Hub’s research portfolio includes major European-funded initiatives such as TechConnect, LEADSx2030 and WOTAM. These projects connect researchers, businesses and public organisations to address digital skills, human-technology collaboration and the future of work.

Shaping AI Responsibly

AI will play an increasingly important role in business and society. Its impact will depend on the decisions made by the people who design, deploy and govern it.

Trinity Business School is committed to developing leaders who can combine technological understanding with strategic judgement, ethical responsibility and a clear awareness of AI’s wider consequences.

Our aim is not simply to prepare people to use AI. It is to help them shape how AI is applied, ensuring that technological progress strengthens organisations, society and human capability.

Sustainability is central to Trinity Business School’s mission to Transform Business for Good, and this commitment extends to how we approach AI.

AI can help organisations reduce waste, use resources more efficiently and make better sustainability decisions. It also has real environmental costs, mainly the energy and water used to train and run models and the carbon emissions that follow.

At Trinity Business School, we don't see the answer as avoiding AI, nor as adopting it without question. We expect our students and staff to use it responsibly: to weigh what it offers against its footprint, to use it where it adds real value, and to put it to work on problems that matter for people and the planet.

Our aim is to develop business leaders who can balance AI’s potential with its environmental impact and make responsible decisions about its use.

The human equation in an age of intelligent machines

Professor Na Fu explores why human skills, not technology alone, will define how successfully we navigate the age of AI.
