Staff Induction

Human Resources hold Induction Days for new Trinity staff. The induction programme includes a tour of Trinity College, and key speakers from across the University.

This day provides a fast track for integration and knowledge on services and key personnel in the University. As part of the induction programme you will meet staff from these areas who will present to you how to access services and what you need to know in the early stages of your work life in Trinity College Dublin.

Areas /Project Teams that you will encounter during induction include:

  • Public Affairs and Communications
  • Financial Services Division
  • Library Services
  • IT Services
  • Trinity Research and Innovation
  • Fantastic tour of the College!

This induction provides an opportunity to build a network across the College at an early stage. This is particularly relevant for you as you embark on research/ administrative/ technical / academic /work career.

New Academic Staff Induction 3-day Programme

This three day induction event for all new academic staff, will provide  a fast track for integration and knowledge on services and key personnel in  the University. 

As  part of the induction programme you will meet the Provost, the Vice  Provost/Chief Academic Officer, the Faculty Deans and the Dean of  Research and other key officers.  In addition, staff from key areas  will present to you how on what  you need to know in the early stages of your academic life in Trinity College  Dublin.
Areas /Project Teams that you will encounter during induction include:

  • Director of Public Affairs and  Communications.
  • Senior Tutor who will talk about the  tutorial service in Trinity.
  • Global Relations, the role it plays  and how you can participate.
  • Trinity Research and Innovation and  the Research Development Office.

There will also be a teaching and  learning discussion panel.

This induction provides an opportunity to build a  network across the faculties at an early stage. This is particularly relevant for Assistant Professors as they embark on their academic career.

There will be a tour of the University on Day 1, so please ensure you wear comfortable shoes for the tour.

New Heads of School Induction

The New Heads of School Induction will be held on 23rd and 30th September 2019, and will be followed up with a series of master classes.   Further information from Learning and Development – staffdev@tcd.ie.
