Biography
Nohreen Ethel P. Manipol is a PhD in Business Candidate (Human Resource Management) at Trinity Business School. Her PhD research focuses on the antecedents of Human Resource Management (HRM) Systems Adoption and implementation among Agribusiness Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and their impact on key employee and organizational outcomes. She was among the 60 recipients of the 2022 Government of Ireland-International Education Scholarship (GOI-IES), with over 4,000 non-EU student applicants. She currently holds a foreign fellowship from the University of the Philippines (UP) System, the country’s national university.
Nohreen Ethel P. Manipol is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Agribusiness Management and Entrepreneurship (DAME) at the College of Economics and Management (CEM), University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB). She holds a Master of Management (Major in Business Management) degree from the same university. She has participated in an international short course on Rural Entrepreneurship Asia organised by Wageningen Centre for Development and Innovation and Can Tho University, through the Orange Knowledge Program (OKP) Scholarship financed by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She teaches Human Behaviour in Organisation, Human Resource Management, Organisation and Management, Agribusiness Research Methods, and Special Problems in Agribusiness. She has served as the Chair of the Research and Extension at DAME for eight years. She has also received several awards from the university, such as the 2022-2024 One UP Faculty Grant Award in Business Management for Outstanding Teaching and Public Service and the 2019-2021 One UP Faculty Grant Award in Business Management for Outstanding Teaching and Research, 2020 CEM Outstanding Research Team, 2018 CEM Outstanding Researcher (Junior Category), and 2018 Best International Conference Paper Presentation (Cooperative Performance). She has ten international and four local peer-reviewed journal publications. In 2015, she also published a peer-reviewed business case with teaching notes through USAID, RTI International, and William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan. Furthermore, she has engaged in government and internationally funded research projects in agribusiness management and entrepreneurship, which provide strategic recommendations and policy directions for key stakeholders. She is also a part of her department’s core team, providing training on human resource management and entrepreneurship to stakeholders from the government and private institutions in the Philippines. She envisions building her research portfolio on HRM in SMEs by forging international collaborations in her teaching, research, and public service endeavours.
