Actions required for Specified Purpose Contracts for Researchers with an upcoming Contact End Date
If the contract is to terminate
If the contract is to TERMINATE on this date – please email hrresearchstaff@tcd.ie with the completed Leaver Form at least 4 weeks prior to the employee finishing to ensure no overpayment is made.
N.B. If this employment is not continuing, please ensure that you comply with the minimum notice period and/or the Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Acts, 1973-2001.
If you require any further clarification on the above Acts or require any information regarding this staff member’s length of service, please contact HR Contracts at researchonboarding@tcd.ie.
If the contract is to continue
If this contract is to CONTINUE please supply the following information:
If the employee is remaining on the same project with the same PI please email hrresearchstaff@tcd.ie to advise of new contract end date.
If there is a change in project code
If there is a change in project code but the PI and project the Researcher is working on is remaining the same, please provide the new contract end date which Employee Services will update and a Staff Transfer form will need to be completed and sent to FSD for the project code to change.

- Complete and email Staff Transfer form to FSD – resadmin@tcd.ie to change the project code
If there is a change in the project details, but the PI is remaining the same
Please complete "Change of Terms" via the Researcher Recruitment Toolbox. A new contract will be issued confirming the new project title the Researcher will be working on, and all other Terms and Conditions will remain the same.
If there is a change of project and a new PI
Please complete a new Nomination Form via the Researcher Recruitment Toolbox. A new contract will be issued confirming the new project title and the new PI that the Researcher will be working under.
If there is a change to employee hours
Please complete "Change of Terms" via the Researcher Recruitment Toolbox.
If there are changes to employee salary
If there are changes to the employee's salary please email hrresearchstaff@tcd.ie to advise of the new rate of pay and the date it is effective from.
