The scholarship recognises talented male and female student athletes competing at the highest levels of Gaelic Football and has been made possible through the support of Phoenix Labs and its leading rehydration brand, Dioralyte. It offers a scholarship package worth €10,000 per annum for the duration of an undergraduate degree, subject to meeting the scholarship conditions each year.

The launch comes at an exciting time for Trinity GAA. Earlier this year, the University’s men’s Gaelic football team claimed a historic Trench Cup title with a dramatic extra time victory, securing promotion to the 2027 Sigerson Cup and highlighting the growing strength of Gaelic Games at Trinity. The new scholarship aims to build on this momentum by attracting and supporting the next generation of talented student athletes.

Successful applicants will benefit from a personalised package designed to maximise both sporting performance and academic success. This includes a financial bursary, individualised strength and conditioning, sport science support, physiotherapy, nutrition support, scholarship kit, and lifestyle and academic guidance.

Michelle Tanner, Director of Sport and Physical Activity at Trinity College Dublin, said: “The launch of this scholarship represents an important investment in the future of Gaelic Games at Trinity. It reflects our ambition to attract outstanding student athletes who want to pursue academic excellence alongside high performance sport, while strengthening our ability to compete at the highest level of university competition. We are delighted to partner with Phoenix Labs Dioralyte to provide meaningful support that will help talented players thrive throughout their time at Trinity.”

Jack McGowan, Commercial Supply and Business Development Manager at Phoenix Labs, said: “At Phoenix Labs, we are proud to partner with Trinity College Dublin in establishing this new GAA Football Scholarship. Through our leading rehydration brand, Dioralyte, we are delighted to support talented student athletes as they strive for excellence both academically and on the playing field.

Gaelic Games are built on resilience, commitment, teamwork and performance, values that closely align with those of Phoenix Labs and Dioralyte. We recognise the dedication required to compete at the highest level while pursuing a university education, and we hope this scholarship helps ease that journey for deserving students.

We are excited to work alongside Trinity to invest in the next generation of leaders, both in sport and in their future careers, and we look forward to seeing the lasting impact this partnership will have for years to come.”

Lisa Cafferky, Student Sport Pathway Manager at Trinity College Dublin, said: "The Trinity GAA Football Scholarship, supported by Phoenix Labs and Dioralyte, is an important addition to our High-Performance Pathway and Sport Scholarship Programme. The scholarship will support talented Gaelic footballers in reaching their potential through an enhanced range of performance, wellbeing and academic supports. It reflects the continued growth of Trinity GAA and our commitment to supporting student-athletes as they develop and excel both on and off the pitch."
