Sadbh Feehan
Sadbh Feehan is a staff member in the School of Education at Trinity College Dublin and a dedicated Special Olympics athlete representing Team Leinster in Bowling at the 2026 Special Olympics Ireland Summer Games.
A graduate of the Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities (TCPID), Sadbh has been involved with Special Olympics Ireland for many years and has participated in a variety of sports, including bowling, swimming, athletics, basketball and equestrian activities. Through her commitment to sport, she has developed her skills, confidence and passion for competition while embodying the values of inclusion, perseverance and teamwork.
Ashwin Maliyakal
Ashwin Maliyakal is a current student at the Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities (TCPID) in the School of Education at Trinity College Dublin and a dedicated Special Olympics Ireland athlete. At the 2026 Special Olympics Ireland Summer Games, Ashwin will represent the Eastern Region in Basketball.
Ashwin has been involved with Special Olympics Ireland since 2010 and has developed into a leader both on and off the court. In addition to competing, he is an Athlete Ambassador, volunteer and trained basketball referee. Through sport, Ashwin has built confidence, teamwork and leadership skills, which he now uses to advocate for inclusion and health equity for people with intellectual disabilities.
Alongside his studies at Trinity, Ashwin has worked with organisations including the HSE and St Michael’s House to support the development and promotion of health resources for people with intellectual disabilities. He is proud to represent his region at the Summer Games and to be part of the Trinity community as he continues to make a positive impact through sport, advocacy and education.
Alex Maher
Alex Maher is a final-year student at the Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities (TCPID) in the School of Education at Trinity College Dublin. Having recently completed his studies, he is currently awaiting his results before graduating later this year.
Alex is a dedicated Special Olympics Ireland athlete and will represent Team Leinster in Golf at the 2026 Special Olympics Ireland Summer Games. Through his commitment to the sport, he has developed confidence, focus and perseverance, while enjoying the challenge and camaraderie that golf provides.
Throughout his time at Trinity, Alex has been an active member of the TCPID community, embracing opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. He is proud to represent Team Leinster at the Summer Games and looks forward to competing alongside athletes from across Ireland while showcasing the values of determination, inclusion and sportsmanship.
The Special Olympics Ireland Summer Games 2026 opening ceremony will take place on Thursday 18th of June in Tallaght Stadium and will officially kick off the games. Best of luck to all Trinity students, staff and alumni taking part in the summer games!
