The Trinity net ball team have concluded a fantastic season for 2021/2022 with a spectacular win over the Leinster Jaguars (one of the biggest Netball clubs in Ireland), Overall the team won 18 out of the 21 fixtures. With bonus points and an undisputed goal difference, it set the team as top of the league going into the semi-finals where they beat Boyne Netball Club, the girls played both the semi-final and final on the same day which was a true test of their dedication, fitness and perseverance. The last match of the day was the final of division 2, between Leinster Jaguars and Trinity Netball Club. With both teams having played intensive semi-finals beforehand, the team weren't expecting the calibre of match that they got, but all players came out full of determination and passion, and all the supporters at court side were so happy to see that.

The final score was 51 to 21, however it again did not reflect the amazing performance by the runners up, Leinster Jaguars.

Team Captain - Caoimhe Sexton commented: “I am really proud of this team, it has been one of the longest and toughest seasons yet and I am over the moon that all the hard work has paid off. The final was definitely our best performance yet, the girls made it look effortless with amazing goals from Floriane and Lola. It has been an absolute pleasure to captain this team and I look forward to hearing all about their success next year.”

Team coach Cliodhna Macateer said "The final was probably our best performance as a team, but also individually I feel everyone played to the best of their ability. We've had a few losses throughout the year and I think our recent loss to Leinster Jaguars was on everyone's mind going into the final. But we really wanted to win and I think we showed that on the court and it gave us the aggression and determination we needed. I'm very proud of them all, they worked so hard and deserve this win. They'll be well able for division 1 next year".

Player of the match for the final was Lola Blacker, a first year TCD student playing GA and GS.

A huge congratulations to the amazing Trinity team, who have conducted great performances time and time again all year and the final was no different. The team have worked hard all season and we're sure that they will do very well in Division 1 next year.

Congratulations Trinity Netball a well-deserved Triumph.
