After months of preparation, DULBC delivered across all three days of racing, underlining the strength and depth of the squad and bringing another successful season to a fitting close.

Friday’s racing saw the Senior Four of Addy Telzrow, María Mezquita García Poggio, Imogen Cooney and Jen Forde secure a bronze medal in a highly competitive field. The club also claimed silver in the Intermediate Eight, with Ava Dolan (cox), Addy Telzrow, Jen Forde, Imogen Cooney, María Mezquita García Poggio, Ginevra Guglielmi, Caoimhe Keller, Izzy Howley, Emily Hurley and Steph Creedon producing an impressive performance to finish ahead of UCD before being edged out by UCC.

Saturday brought one of the most dramatic races of the weekend in the Senior Pair. Addy Telzrow and María Mezquita García Poggio crossed the finish line first after leading for much of the race in a thrilling contest with a University of Galway crew. However, the DULBC pair were later disqualified following a steering infringement, denying them the national title despite an exceptional performance.

Elsewhere, Eliza Barrett Cotter and Ava Carmody reached the Intermediate Pair final, finishing fifth overall, while Grace Healy claimed bronze in the Senior Single Scull against an elite field that included Rowing Ireland internationals, Olympian Margaret Cremen and 2023 World Champion Siobhán McCrohan.

The club celebrated its first national title of the weekend in the Club Two Eight. Ava Dolan (cox), Ginevra Guglielmi, Jen Forde, Izzy Howley, Emily Hurley, Róisín Cormican, Caoimhe Keller, Poppy Somerville and Steph Creedon produced a dominant performance to win by clear water, securing DULBC’s first victory in the category since 2012.

The Intermediate Four of Ginevra Guglielmi, Jen Forde, Imogen Cooney, Izzy Howley and Ava Dolan also impressed, recording the fastest time in the heats before finishing runners up to a strong UCC crew in the final.

DULBC closed the championships in spectacular fashion by claiming the Senior Eight title. Racing as a composite crew alongside athletes from Skibbereen Rowing Club, Addy Telzrow, María Mezquita García Poggio, Aisling Hayes and Jen Forde helped power the boat to an emphatic victory, leading from the opening stages to secure the first Senior Eight national title in the club’s history.

The championships provided a fitting conclusion to another exceptional season for DULBC, with the club once again demonstrating its strength on the national stage following its recognition as Trinity Sports Awards 2026 Club of the Year.
