The M.Sc. in Accounting and Analytics is a twelve-month, 90 ECTS programme designed for students seeking advanced expertise in accounting and data analytics. It replaces the Postgraduate Diploma (P.Grad.Dip.) in Accounting previously offered, expanding its scope to include advanced analytics and applied research. The programme equips students with a comprehensive skill set aligned with the evolving needs of the financial and professional service sectors. The programme includes core modules such as financial reporting, taxation, audit, and financial management, along with analytics-focused coursework. In the final semester, students undertake the 30 ECTS Analytics for Accounting practice-based research module, delivered by staff from Deloitte, integrating AI, big data analysis, and robotic process automation into real-world financial and business challenges.

Course Structure

This one-year full-time M.Sc. programme comprises eight core modules totalling 60 ECTS and one research module worth 30 ECTS, designed to build expertise in accounting and data analytics.  Assessment is through a combination of written exams and continuous assessment. The programme culminates in the Analytics for Accounting Capstone module, practice-based project. This module replaces a traditional dissertation with an executive report focused on real-world financial and business challenges.

Admission Requirements

Applicants are required to posses a minimum 2.1 Honours degree or international equivalent. They should also have two academic referees (applicants with work experience can instead provide one academic and one professional referee).

English Language Requirements

All applicants to Trinity are required to provide official evidence of proficiency in the English language. Applicants to this course are required to meet Band B (Standard Entry) English language requirements.
