Overview
Overview
These practical ten-week courses introduce students to screen acting and develop confidence in front of the camera. Level 1 will cover the fundamentals of screen acting technique and dispel some of the myths about acting for screen. Students will work with sound and continuity crews, become familiar with the filming process, equipment, roles of the crew members, and filming terminology.
Level 2 will build on those skills and develop the confidence, familiarity, and experience of using them.
Level 3 dives deep into intensive scene work and interrogates the skills learned in previous courses to develop the actors’ abilities.
The course will begin with camera-based classes that are designed to show students how the camera can aid a performance rather than hinder it, and at the end of the course all participants will have an edited recording of their own scenes filmed in class.
These courses are suitable for aspiring and experienced actors who are interested in screen acting and film acting from beginners to advanced levels.
