The programme is designed for students who want to strengthen their quantitative thinking while applying analytics to real organisational challenges. You will learn to work with large and complex datasets and use them to guide strategic decisions. Along the way, you will build fluency in core programming languages such as R, SQL, and Python, and develop hands-on experience with advanced methods including Machine Learning and RAG. By the end of the programme, you will be prepared to lead with insight in a world shaped by data.
Delivery Modes
All three delivery modes lead to the same Master of Science (MSc) award from Trinity College Dublin and follow the same academic standards.
The full-time delivery mode is delivered on campus in Dublin over one academic year. The part-time on-campus route is delivered over two years and is designed for students who can attend classes at Trinity Business School in Dublin while balancing study with work or other commitments. The online route is delivered part time over two years and is primarily online, with one required in-person immersion/orientation week in Dublin.
Please note that the part-time on-campus and online routes are not eligible for Irish study visas or post-study stay-back visas.

The Careers & Community team help you to identify suitable career paths and provide tailored advice on how best to achieve your career goals through workshops, one-to-one coaching, and psychometric assessments. They deliver a wide range of career sessions with defined learning outcomes and arrange company and recruitment consultancy presentations, job fairs, and networking events.
This MSc is a 90 ECTS programme. Students complete eight taught modules totalling 60 ECTS and either an individual dissertation or group consultancy project worth 30 ECTS.
Modules include*: Data Management & Visualisation, Business AI Deployment, Generative AI for Business, Ethical and Sustainable issues for Business AI, Digital Technologies in Practice, Business Data Mining, Foundations Of Business Analytics and Business and AI Strategy.
The individual dissertation is completed with the support of an academic supervisor. The group consultancy project is completed with both an academic supervisor and a company supervisor, allowing students to apply their learning to a practical business challenge.

Part-time on-campus and online routes: closing date 31 July 2026
Applicants typically have a strong academic background, normally a minimum 2.1 honours degree or international equivalent, in a quantitative subject such as Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Business. Applicants with significant professional experience in similar fields may also be suitable.
Applicants are not required to have prior coding or programming experience. However, the programme is best suited to applicants with strong quantitative and analytical ability, or relevant professional experience in analytical, technical, business or data-related roles.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Admission to the programme is competitive and we recommend an early application as spaces often fill up quickly.
All applicants to Trinity are required to provide official evidence of proficiency in the English language. Applicants to this course are required to meet Band B (Standard Entry) English language requirements.
