COURSE LEADERS

Frédérique Vallières is an Associate Professor in Global Health and Psychology and the Director of the Trinity Centre for Global Health. 

Frédérique received her BSc in Psychology and Biology from McGill University (Canada), and her MSc in Global Health and PhD in Public Health and Primary Care from Trinity College Dublin. Frédérique's current research portfolio focuses on the application of Psychology to Global Health, with a focus on Global

Mental Health, Health System Strengthening, and Human Resources for Health. Her research is primarily concerned with closing the research-to-practice gap prevalent within Global Health. Frédérique prioritises working in close collaboration with civil society organisations and through multidisciplinary consortiums comprising European, sub-Saharan African, Asian, and Middle Eastern partners.

 

Sarah Harrison is the Team Leader for the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Advisors team within the Reference Centre for Psychosocial Support (PS Centre) of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.

Her specialties are psychosocial support and protection for children, youth, women, and men in humanitarian settings.

She also has responsibility for humanitarian diplomacy with Movement partners, Government actors and with other humanitarian agencies/ organisations. She supports strategic processes within the PS Centre and the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement more broadly, and externally represents the PS Centre in various forums and meetings.
