We are delighted to announce an expanded programme of events for 'Women in Sport' week from Friday 6 March to Thursday 19 March 2026. From a panel talk to women's lifthing hour and drop-in social sport sessions, there's something for everyone this 'Women in Sport' week!
Michelle Tanner, Director of Sport and Physical Activity at Trinity, and Chair of the Sport Ireland Women in Sport Group, shared her excitement: "For the second year running, Trinity will be home to a host of events across campus during an extended 'Women in Sport' week taking place from 6 to 19 March. Aligned with Sport Ireland's 'Women in Sport' campaign, our events are focused on increasing participation, celebrating leadership and creating visible spaces where women feel confident and supported in sport and physical activities. Whether you’re a club athlete or just curious to try something new, 'Women in Sport' week is your invitation to get involved!"
Nicole Harford, Sport & Physical Activity Intern at Trinity Sport, added: "As a member of the Trinity Sport team, I’ve seen first hand the impact these types of events can have across campus - especially within the Women’s Lifting Hour programme, where I've seen immense growth and an increase in confidence among the women taking part. I'm proud to contribute to the 'Women in Sport' week and wider campaign and to make sport accessible at every level to girls and women."

About Women in Sport
Trinity's ‘Women in Sport’ campaign is a university-wide initiative which was launched in 2024 to advance gender equality across all levels of sport at Trinity College Dublin. The campaign is aligned with Sport Ireland’s ‘Women in Sport’ campaign, the Irish National Sport Policy 2018-2027 and the university’s sports strategy, ‘Realising Potential: A Strategy for Sport at Trinity 2022 – 2026’.
Our 'Women in Sport' campaign is built upon four strategic pillars aligned to the framework and structure of the Sport Ireland ‘Women in Sport’ policy with one pillar being visibility: increase the visibility and profile of women’s sport and women in sport.
