Research Ethical Approval

Welcome to the School of Nursing and Midwifery Research Ethics page

Applications to the School's Research Ethics Committee are now processed through the Research Ethics Application Management system (REAMS). REAMs is a new platform developed for processing research ethics applications. See below for instructions on how to use this platform.

Ensure you are registered for REAMs: all academic staff and research students are automatically registered to use the REAMs platform; external reviewers or professional staff who support a REC should contact the system administrator at office.dean.res@tcd.ie to register.

Help text boxes pop up as you go through the application providing links to more information in a comprehensive guidance document which is navigable by contents headings or key words to help you complete your application.

Submission dates for the 2026/2027 academic year's Research Ethics Committee meetings will be published in the coming weeks. Please check this page regularly for updates.
