On International Nurses Day, the Provost of Trinity College Dublin, Dr Linda Doyle hosted a special celebration to mark 30 Years of the School of Nursing & Midwifery at Trinity College.

It was a very special occasion for current staff, valued partners and founding members of our School community, including the founding Head of School and first Chair, Professor Cecily Begley.

Professor Damien Brennan, Head of the School of Nursing & Midwifery, said:  

“Over the past three decades School of Nursing and Midwifery has grown to become an active and thriving community of researchers, students, nurses, midwives, and allied healthcare professionals. We are proud of the strong relationships that we have built within Trinity College, and with our external partners. 

 Since the establishment of the School in 1996, we have been committed to shaping better experiences of birth, death, health, illness, and disability for people in Ireland and beyond. We look forward to continuing to uphold and advance this work into the future.” 

 

Professor Linda Doyle, Provost of Trinity College Dublin, said: “‘I am immensely proud of our School of Nursing & Midwifery and all that it has achieved over the past 30 years. The exceptional education it has provided to over 7,000 graduates, the global impact of its research, the strength of its partnerships, and its recent Top Ten QS World University Ranking, reflect the care and ambition of the entire School community. It was also wonderful to celebrate this success with colleagues, past and present.”
