Professor Catherine McCabe has been awarded the 2025-2026 Award for Excellence in Supervision of Research Students for the Faculty of Health Sciences.
The awards are presented annually and seek to recognise the important role that supervisors play in the success of their postgraduate students. Nominations are made by research students, who wish to acknowledge excellence demonstrated by a supervisor.

Professor Catherine McCabe, Professor in General Nursing and Director of Research at the School of Nursing & Midwifery, said:
“Receiving this award is a great honour. Supporting students along their research journey is an important responsibility, but it is also a very rewarding undertaking. As Director of Research I am proud that cultivating excellence in research supervision is a key priority for the School of Nursing & Midwifery, where we focus on the quality of the research student experience.”
