Lead by filmmaker David J. Evans, this course will workshop the nuances of working on screen and in front of a camera.
Through workshops and discussions, the group will explore the difference of a film script vs a play script; how to prepare for a film audition; self-taping; casting and type-casting; learn about life on set i.e. terminology, the discipline required to wait to film; the technicalities of screen-acting such as how to hit your mark; how to develop your character; and be more comfortable acting for camera.
This course is suitable for novice and aspiring actors who would like to learn more about the practicalities of a film set and acting for screen.
Leaving the course, you will have a better understanding of how working for screen is different to stage; how you can be a better colleague on set; and how to interpret a film script to give your best performance.
No experience required, age 18+.
