COURSE LEADERS

Frédérique Vallières is an Associate Professor in Global Health and Psychology and the Director of the Trinity Centre for Global Health. 

Frédérique received her BSc in Psychology and Biology from McGill University (Canada), and her MSc in Global Health and PhD in Public Health and Primary Care from Trinity College Dublin. Frédérique's current research portfolio focuses on the application of Psychology to Global Health, with a focus on Global

Mental Health, Health System Strengthening, and Human Resources for Health. Her research is primarily concerned with closing the research-to-practice gap prevalent within Global Health. Frédérique prioritises working in close collaboration with civil society organisations and through multidisciplinary consortiums comprising European, sub-Saharan African, Asian, and Middle Eastern partners.

 

Sarah Harrison is the Director for the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement MHPSS Hub. 

Sarah has been part of the MHPSS Hub (formerly the IFRC PS Centre) since 2016, first as IFRC Co-chair of the IASC Reference Group on MHPSS in Emergencies and, since 2022, as Head of the MHPSS Hub Technical Unit. Prior to this, she held senior positions with UN agencies (IOM and UNHCR), international NGOs, and the UK’s National Health Service and has significant credentials in academia as well.
