Research Expertise

I have a particular interest in education, and my research is centered on improving patient education in chronic disease. I'm particularly interested on the potential of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into healthcare, by gaining insights from the user's perspective. I have previously worked on digital interventions in asthma, exploring innovative ways to enhance patient engagement and self-management.

  • Title
Assessing the acceptability of integrating A.I in asthma self-management.
    Summary
My research is exploring the acceptability of integrating artificial intelligence (A.I) into healthcare education for people living with asthma. Despite growing interest in A.I, studies show that its acceptability in healthcare remains uncertain. The concept of acceptability, is considered integral to the design of healthcare interventions. Nonetheless assessing the acceptability of A.I in healthcare is still in its infancy. Recent studies provide a retrospective analysis of A.I acceptability with a notable gap in prospective views. It could be argued that this oversight introduces potential biases, as it assumes that users are willing to engage with AI systems. My study aims to capture the acceptability of A.I in healthcare, from the lens of the people living with asthma.
