Research Expertise

My research focuses on improving the health, well-being, and care experiences of people affected by cancer across the survivorship continuum. I examine how personal, social, and healthcare system factors shape quality of life, outcomes, and access to supportive care, with a particular emphasis on multimorbidity, ageing, unmet needs, and health literacy. Using mixed methods, patient-reported outcomes, and participatory research approaches, my work seeks to generate evidence that informs person-centred models of care, strengthens health systems, and advances national and European cancer policy. I collaborate widely across clinical, academic, and policy sectors, contributing to EU guideline development, research priority-setting, and survivorship frameworks. Alongside cancer survivorship, I maintain broader interests in chronic disease management and gerontological nursing, with a focus on optimising care transitions, identifying system-level determinants of health outcomes, and supporting nurses' roles in delivering high-quality, evidence-informed care.
