Ms Fiona Snow

Biography

Fiona is currently undertaking a Doctorate in Education at Trinity College Dublin, with a research focus on the experiences of creative-practitioner-educators who teach in higher education. She is a studio-based lecturer in the Department of Design and Visual Arts at IADT, Dún Laoghaire, and since 2021 has served as Academic Lead for Creative Arts Pedagogies in IADT’s Creative Futures Academy (CFA), a national HCI Pillar 3 project. 

Fiona is an active designer and practitioner, with a creative practice centred on miniatures and the ethics of making. She integrates this material and conceptual expertise into her teaching and research, and is a passionate advocate for the distinctive forms of learning fostered within creative arts institutions. She is committed to articulating the unique epistemologies of creative practice and its contribution to higher education. 

An expert in the signature pedagogies of the creative arts, Fiona is a co-recipient of a Disciplinary Excellence in Learning and Teaching (DELTA) award, a recipient of Strategic Alignment of Teaching and Learning Enhancement (SATLE) funding (2020–2021), and has consulted as a subject matter expert in Art and Design for Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI).
