Biography
Liz Loughnane has been a primary school teacher since 2013, working in both mainstream and special education classrooms. It was through teaching, that Liz found a passion for reading aloud and playfully integrating picture books across the curriculum. She completed her Master's in Children's and Young Adult Literature in 2019.
Liz is the creator of personal blog @Today_We_Read on Instagram - a space where she shares high quality children's literature, as well as tips and tricks for reading aloud with teachers and parents. She has created and facilitated a Department of Education approved summer course for teachers about how to get the most out of their read aloud sessions in the classroom. Liz is a frequent reviewer for Inis Magazine and a Book Doctor with Children's Books Ireland. Most recently she has worked with the Libraries Development Team in the LGMA (Local Government Management Agency) on their national Story Streets project, helping to create activity packs and providing training for facilitators of the project. Liz is in her first year of the Doctorate in Education at Trinity College Dublin.
