Biography
Anastasia P. Kiourtzoglou is a PhD candidate in the School of Education at Trinity College Dublin, co-supervised by Carmel O’Sullivan (Trinity College) and Cormac Forkan (University of Galway). Her research focuses on how arts education and in particular Augusto Boal’s Forum Theatre, critically challenges medical doctors' perspectives on shared decision-making at different stages of their careers. Anastasia is interested in topics such as medical communication, artistic interventions, and societal issues like gender equality and cultural inclusion. In addition to her academic work, Anastasia is a writer of fiction, poetry, and scholarly articles. In 2023, her article titled "Invisible Womanhood: A Political Poetics for Six Thousand Years" was published in "Voices From Gender Studies," part of the Routledge Advances in Feminist Studies and Intersectionality series.
