Biography

Nóirín is a developmental psychologist and educationalist and Adjunct Professor at the School of Education, Trinity College Dublin. Her specialist field is early childhood education and care [ECEC] with a particular focus on early child development and learning, curriculum and pedagogy and ECEC policy. Her research interests include exploring the role and potential of the arts in early education. She has authored of a number of books, reports and research articles and her most recent books include Early Years Practice: Getting It Right From the Start [Routledge, 2024) and [co- authored] Introducing Bronfenbrenner (Routledge, 2023) and Supporting Positive Behaviour in Early Childhood Settings and Primary Schools: Relationships, Reciprocity and Reflection (Routledge, 2020). She has served on various Government advisory groups, and is a founder member of the Children’s Rights Alliance and Honorary Member of OMEP International.
